Anthony Edwards is injured and is reported to be sidelined as the Minnesota Timberwolves star has sustained a right hamstring strain. Following this, the shooting guard will be out for two weeks. He suffered the injury in the first quarter on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers. The 24-year-old did not return to the game after just three minutes on the court and will now be rested until next week.
Anthony Edwards injury update: When will Timberwolves star return?
As per a report by the team, Edwards went through an MRI, which revealed the strain, and he'll be reevaluated in one week, according to the team. Shams Charania of ESPN stated that he will be out for two weeks.
It is expected that the three-time NBA All-Star will miss a minimum of eight games. While Edwards, the first overall pick by the Timberwolves in the 2020 NBA Draft, is now sidelined, the franchise will likely reconfigure their offense to put Julius Randle at the center. Without Ant-Man, minutes likely increase for Terrence Shannon Jr., Jaylen Clark and Bones Hyland.

Head coach Chris Finch on Monday stated:
"Of course, we're going to miss him, his ability to take over a game, put together runs, do all the special things that he can do. But we feel like we have a deep team, and this is when a deep team helps you.”
Meanwhile, in the absence of the star player, veteran guard Mike Conley took his spot in the lineup against the Denver Nuggets. The Wolves are set to face the Los Angeles Lakers next, who are 2-2 in the regular season, the same as the Timberwolves.
