Anthony Edwards and Jalen led Team USA Stars to win the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Edwards was picked as the All-Star Game MVP and won the Kobe Bryant trophy. Although, the Minnesota Timberwolves star grabbed eyeballs after the game for his discussion with Johnson.
Anthony Edwards to join the Atlanta Hawks?
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Edwards can be seen talking to Johnson after defeating Team Stripes. He covered his mouth and seemingly said, "I can't wait to come home" or "I can't wait to go home."
Edwards, who hails from Atlanta, also noted the number of wings the Hawks have. It looked like Jonathan Kuminga's name was also mentioned, so it was something that got the internet going.
It is clear that Anthony Edwards mentioned "home" and "Kuminga" during the interaction with Jalen Johnson. However, there are a lot of ways to interpret and Edwards said. He could be talking about coming home to Atlanta and facing the Hawks.
Maybe Edwards is aiming to face the likes of Jonathan Kuminga, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels and more. It is possible, but the Minnesota Timberwolves already visited the Hawks on New Year's eve.
Some fans also joked that Edwards was not taling about wings as players but wings as in chicken wings, since Atlanta is famous for its food.
The conversation sparked rumors about Edwards' future in Minnesota. It didn't help that he allegedly shared a picture of himself and Johnson on his Instagram story. He called Johnson his "brother" and added an hourglass emoji that usually means "soon."
