The Chicago Bulls face near-certain elimination from 2026 NBA playoff contention tonight when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center. Sitting at 29-43 and 12th in the Eastern Conference, the Bulls trail the play-in spots by a significant margin with only about 10 games remaining.
Chicago Bulls faces NBA Playoffs elimination scare tonight vs Thunder
A loss to the league-leading Thunder combined with favorable results for teams above them in the standings would mathematically end Chicago's slim hopes of reaching the postseason for the first time since 2022. Even a victory would leave their chances razor-thin, as they would need to win nearly all remaining games while multiple teams above them lose.
The Thunder enter the matchup at a dominant 57-16 record, leading the Western Conference and pushing for the NBA's best overall seed. Oklahoma City boasts a strong home record of 29-7 and has won seven straight at Paycom Center.
The Bulls, meanwhile, have struggled on the road (11-23) and are coming off a lopsided 157-137 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, extending a poor stretch in which they have lost 19 of their last 25 games. On the other hand, the Thunder are a hit favourite to win this one and have already qualified for the playoffs as the first team to do so.
