As per NBA insider Brett Siegel, Flagg gone through an MRI to know the seriousness of the injury. The report painted a concerning update, ruling him out of the Rising Stars team for the All-Star weekend.
Cooper Flagg played on Tuesday when the Mavericks faced 120-111 defeat against the Phoenix Suns. He clocked 36 minutes and continued his scoring form with a 27-point performance.
The former Duke phenom filled the stat sheet with an all-round performance, cementing his case for the Rookie of the Year award. He shot 8 of 20 from the floor, including 0 of 1 from 3-point range, and 11 of 14 from the free-throw line. Flagg also registered five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Next challenge for Dallas Mavericks
After the All-Star break, the Mavericks will face the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 20. All eyes will be on Flagg's recovery over the next week before the regular-season commences after an eight-day break.
This season, Flagg has played 49 games and is averaging 20.4 points on 48.2% shooting from the floor, including 30.2% from beyond the arc. He is also averaging 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
