Latest update on Cooper Flagg's status

Flagg has been dealing with a right thumb splint since the Mavericks' 111-105 victory over the Washington Wizards on November 10.

Flagg picked up the injury while dunking the ball. He has worn protective gear to avoid aggravation. Flagg is set to wear it for the next four to six weeks. Although. the injury is yet to restrict him from playing a game. Flagg was initially placed as "available" concerning this injury.

But, the Mavericks downgraded him to "questionable," citing an illness. Flagg could miss his first game if his health doesn't improve closer to tip off.

Latest update on Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II

Other two updates are about the availability of Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II. The star center duo missed Monday's back-to-back at the Minnesota Timberwolves, which ended up in a 120-96 defeat for the Dallas Mavericks.

Gafford did not play after reaggravating his ankle injury in overtime on Sunday in the 138-133 win against the Portland Trail Blazers. On the other hand, Lively, who was two games into his return from a right knee injury, was rested. They are both placed as "probable" against the Knicks and likely to play.
