With the playoffs about to begin, the Milwaukee Bucks fans are patiently hoping for a timely recovery of their star player Damian Lillard. Owing to a deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot) in his right calf, the Point Guard missed the last 14 games of the regular season. As per a latest update, Lillard is improving but a return against Indiana Pacers as soon as on the coming Saturday will be far-fetched.

Damian Lillard Injury Update
The Milwaukee Bucks expressed optimism about Damian Lillard's recovery, with GM Jon Horst stating he'll gradually increase on-court activity. However, an insider indicated that Lillard won't be cleared to play by the start of the playoffs, despite the team's positive outlook. Hence, there is still obscurity on the timeline of his recovery.
“Damian’s most recent weekly scan shows that his injury has significantly improved, which will enable him to move ahead safely with increased basketball activity,” Horst said in a statement. “Damian’s health remains our No. 1 priority. We have followed strict protocols and will continue to do so. We are pleased with the positive news about Damian’s progress.”
Damian Lillard's injury was initially believed to be a calf strain, but he was later diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein, typically in the leg. His treatment involved blood thinners.
Damian Lillard played 58 games in his second season with Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, averaging 24.9 points and 7.1 assists. However, the Bucks struggled in the 2024 playoffs, starting without Antetokounmpo due to injury and ultimately losing to the Pacers in the first round.
As Lillard is set to miss the initial rounds or may be the entire tie against the Pacers, the onus will fall on Giannis Antetokounmpo to do the heavy lifting for the side.
