Draymond Green claps back at a fan over claims he denied Steph Curry a fifth championship.

Green’s difficult season revives memories of his 2016 NBA Finals suspension and regret.

Draymond Green would be the first one to say that he cost the Golden State Warriors a championship in 2016. However, Green recently shouted at a fan for accusing him of costing the team and Steph Curry another ring because of his play this season.

Green's presence on social media

Green stays active on social media, with his popular podcast sharing new episodes on YouTube. He has not been replying on the platform, defending himself by trolling back.

In one of the posts, a fan with a username that fires a shot at him, @expensivebackpackfor30, said that Green and Warriors owner Joe Lacob are to blame for not letting Curry win a fifth championship.

Here was Green's clapback:

"Just like we were the reasons he never had a shot at 1 huh?"

Draymond Green is going through a tough season, averaging 8.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Green has been turning the ball over more and has already been ejected a couple of times. He also had a serious shouting match with coach Steve Kerr on the bench.

Did Draymond Green cost Steph Curry a ring?

The Golden State Warriors were very close to winning back-to-back championships in 2016. The Warriors were up 3-1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and were one win away from claiming the greatest season in the history of the NBA.

However, Green was suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals after hitting LeBron James below the belt in the last game. The Cavaliers used the momentum from winning Game 5 to secure the biggest comeback in the history of NBA finals after defeating the Warriors.

Speaking on the "Checc'n In Podcast With Big U" in September 2022, Green acknowledged that his actions cost the Warriors a championship in 2016.

"We lost," Green said, according to Sports Illustrated. "I take that on the chin. I cost us a championship. I'm fine with that. I can take that on the chin, no problem. I own up to my mistakes."

Green added that one of the reasons he was out for the game is that NBA officials have a different set of rules for him.
