Legion Hoops reports Giannis favors Miami or New York, while not ruling out a blockbuster switch to the Lakers.

With LeBron James nearing the end of his Lakers tenure, LA could pair Luka Dončić with Giannis in a potential NBA super-team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the center of attraction ahead of the February 5 deadline, with many hoping for a move. That never took place, as Milwaukee stood firm and will push on their star for the second half of the season.

However, less than 24 hours following the deadline, fresh rumors already came out regarding a potential offseason move, with Antetokounmpo's long-term future in Milwaukee once again under the spotlight.

Although Antetokounmpo has declined a potential departure from Milwaukee, teams will be pursuing him this offseason. Legion Hoops on Thursday placed the teams the Greek would be aiming to join, including two Eastern Conference franchises and the LA Lakers.

Top three destinations for Giannis Antetokounmpo

1. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat were the only Eastern Conference franchise that stood pat at the trade deadline. While they were considered as a possible destination for Giannis, Miami chose not to make a move this season and is set to be among the top contenders in the summer.

With Terry Rozier, Norman Powell, and Simone Fontecchio all set to hit free agency, Miami could open up the squad and cap flexibility. That would make them the favorites for landing Giannis.

2. New York Knicks

As per a report shared by Legion Hoops on Thursday, the New York Knicks are another Eastern Conference team that Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be open to joining this offseason, with the franchise reportedly aiming to move Karl-Anthony Towns as part of the bid.

However, the Knicks chose not to disrupt their core midseason. Fresh off winning the NBA Cup and firmly in playoff mix, New York has a potential shot for the first time in 50 years, with the option to revisit a hunt of Giannis once the season comes to an end.

3. LA Lakers

The LA Lakers will have a vacuum on the wing this offseason, as LeBron James is set to depart from the team after nine years. Now in his last year, neither James nor the Lakers has discussed an extension, as Giannis remains a top target for the purple and gold.

Legion Hoop on Thursday noted their intent by naming them as the only team that Giannis would consider in the West.

"Giannis prefers the Knicks or Heat this summer if he’s traded, but “won’t rule out” the Los Angeles Lakers," Legion Hoops wrote.

If true, the Lakers could become the biggest team in the NBA with Luka Doncic leading the backcourt and Giannis playing as a perfect two-way player.
