The Golden State Warriors' injury report could look problematic as they will lock horns with the Sacramento Kings on the second night of a back-to-back. The Warriors have not submitted their official injury list, but coach Steve Kerr revealed his decision for Steph Curry after Tuesday's 118-117 win over the Phoenix Suns.
Latest update on Stephen Curry
Steph Curry revealed that he was dealing with an illness, making his status against the Kings uncertain. He said that he felt bad as the game continued. Kerr firmly suggested he won't play the two-time MVP regardless of what his star player or the medical staff decides.
"He’s wiped out right now," the Warriors coach told reporters on Tuesday (via 95.7 The Game).
"I don’t care what the doctors say. We've got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now. He’s not gonna play tomorrow."
Steve Kerr said that the busy schedule of Golden State Warriors' put a burden on the 37-year-old's body over the past week. Golden State travelled to Milwaukee on Thursday and to Indiana on Saturday before returning home for Tuesday's game. The team will be facing the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, followed by a visit to Denver on Friday.
Latest update on Jimmy Butler
Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler's status is also not certain. He entered the game against the Suns with a back issue and tweaked it in the first half. The Warriors provided him rest for the second half. Kerr said Butler was placed questionable to face the Kings.
Another experienced star, Draymond Green, is also not hundred percent certain. Kerr did not confirm his participation, saying:
"We'll see."
Al Horford's return from injury
The only good thing for the Golden State Warriors could be Al Horford's comeback. He was rested against the Suns, because of injury management. He could be in the lineup against Sacramento.
De'Anthony Melton and rookie Toohey will be the other absentees for the Warriors. Melton is recovering from an ACL surgery and Toohey has a knee injury. Neither player has made a season debut.
