Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers faced elimination from the playoffs with a 31-27 loss against the Chicago Bears on Saturday. Following the game, there were some speculations that the Packers might part ways with Matt LaFleur, since it was the second time in a row that Green Bay failed to make it past the wild-card round.
However, Packers quarterback Love left no doubt when questioned whether he wanted to see LaFleur continue as team's coach in the 2026 season.
"I definitely think Matt should remain the head coach," Love said. "I got a lot of love for Matt. I think he does a great job."
The Packers controlled the game for the majority party, having led 21-3 at halftime. However, they led the Bears amass 28 points in the second half, 25 of which came in the final quarter.
The Packers hired LaFleur in January 2019. He has won three NFC North titles and guided the team to the playoffs in six of his seven seasons since then.
LaFleur has compiled a 76-40-1 record in the regular season with a 3-6 record in the playoffs. However, the Packers have not been to the NFC championship game since the 2020 season.
Packers QB Jordan Love's solid game vs the Bears
Jordan Love had a great outing against the Bears on Friday. He went 24 of 46 for 323 yards with four touchdowns while adding 11 yards on one carry.
Love also had a strong 2025 regular season, registering 3,381 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions across 15 games, leading Green Bay to a 9-7-1 record.
Love has led the Packers to the playoffs in each of the past three seasons since he has taken over as the team's starting quarterback. However, he has only one postseason victory.
