Draymond defends his Hall of Fame case, stressing impact beyond the stat sheet.

LeBron James' former teammate at Lakers, Danny Green, turned to being an analyst after his retirement from the NBA. In one of his most declarations as an expert, he labeled Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green as a role player, rather than a star.

Draymond Green's importance in Warriors' system

During his interaction with the No Fouls Given podcast, Green, who won three titles with three different sides, said that Draymond Green is a role player as he excels in the Warriors' system.

"I think Draymond is a role player," Green said. "If you put him on Charlotte is he still a superstar?“

Green is also said that the Warriors forward is the biggest role player of all time as he is expected to be named in the Hall of Fame after finishing his career.

"That's the reason why he is the greatest role player of all time because he is going to the Hall of Fame," Green said.

Green has been considered as one of the big three in the Warriors' dynasty along with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The three won four NBA championships together.

Draymond Green's underrated stats

Draymond Green has not averaged double digits in scoring in the last eight seasons. This year, he averages 8.4, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.

Green has also won the Defensive Player of the Year ward once in the 2016-17 season, and many still believe he is one of the best defenders in the current era.

Draymond Green reacts on his Hall of Fame resume

Draymond Green does not have eye-opening records throughout his career, yet his Hall of Fame case stayed strong, considering his contributions to the Warriors dynasty.

For Green, those who knew the game beyond the stats would see his contributions and appreciate him in the Hall of Fame.

“I think I’ll — and I hope I’ll — be in the Hall of Fame. But my route won’t be the typical route," he said. "You won’t go and look at my stats and say, ‘This guy’s a surefire Hall of Famer.’ But if you know the game… then I think I have a case.”

Green is currently 35 years old and remains a key figure for the Warriors as they look for their fifth title led by Curry and Jimmy Butler.
