Los Angeles Lakers has been a team full of legacies and Star players and LeBron James might be up there at the top with all the legends. James Joined Lakers during 2018-19 and has been phenomenal since then. The Lakers and James bond further elevated in 2024 when LeBron James's son Bronny James featured for Lakers and the dru became the first father-son duo to play for the same in the sports history. But now the new that comes to the fans have been little disheartening, Bryce James, the younger son of NBA star LeBron James, has officially committed to the University of Arizona, joining the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class. He made the announcement on Instagram with the caption, "100% committed."

Bryce James has big shoes to fill. His father, a four-time NBA champion, four-time NBA MVP, and holder of four Olympic medals (three gold and one silver) with Team USA, has set a remarkable standard. His brother, Bronny, was a 4-star recruit and ranked as the No. 28 prospect in the nation before being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. With such a strong family foundation, fans are eager to see how Bryce's basketball journey develops and what lies ahead for him.

Recruiting Journey and Offers

The four-star prospect, who hails from Sierra Canyon High School in California, had previously received offers from various schools, including Ohio State and Duquesne. Duquesne, in fact, was the first program to extend an offer to James in the summer of 2022. James also visited Ohio State unofficially in the fall of 2023 before recently visiting Arizona, where he ultimately made his decision to commit.

Savannah James, wife of LeBron James shared a post on her Instagram handle and expressed how proud she was of him.

"So proud of you @_justbryce!! Your silent hustle has definitely not gone unnoticed!! I’m so excited for you and I can’t wait to cheer you on through this journey! Down!" Savannah wrote.

Head coach Tommy Lloyd is still pursuing additional high-level prospects for 2025, with Koa Peat (ranked No. 8 in the ESPN 100), Brayden Burries (No. 10), and Alijah Arenas (No. 15) being some of the top remaining targets.
