In Randle's first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Randle averages 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Miami Heat's rumored target and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle only played 10 minutes against the Utah Jazz on Thursday, January 30. Randle scored a layup over the outstretched hands of Jazz center Walker Kessler but afterwards, he was seen in pain while holding his groin.

It was a foul committed by Jaylen Clark that allowed the Timberwolves to relive the three-time All-Star. The former New York Knicks star didn't come out of the locker room once the second half began. Randle only managed to register six points, one rebound and one assist in the 10 minutes that he played.

The Timberwolves had little trouble in the third quarter without Julius Randle. From a 57-53 lead, the Timberwolves extended their lead to 101-75 as the match headed into the fourth quarter.

Miami Heat is reportedly targeting Julius Randle after the ongoing saga with Jimmy Butler. But it looks like Randle will be sidelined after his groin injury. He might miss the first game of the season as well when the Timberwolves host the Washington Wizards on Saturday, February 1.

In his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Randle averages 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Last year while playing for the New York Knicks, Randle won the All-Star as he averaged 24.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG and 5.0 APG.

Miami Heat's are interested in Minnesota Timberwolves Julius Randle

NBA insider Ian Begley reported on Wednesday,

Keep an eye on Minnesota in a Butler deal. In the offseason, the Heat were one of the teams that expressed interest in trading for Julius Randle, per SNY sources. Randle has remained on the Heat's radar during the Butler saga, sources say.

I don't know if there are any active trade talks between Minnesota and Miami. But the two teams have been in touch on Butler trades.

Julius Randle has a $30.9 million player option for the upcoming season. The Knicks and Randle didn't agree to an extension last season which saw him make the move to Timberwolves. The Minnesota Timberwolves should be watchful that Randle can opt out of the contract and play somewhere else after this season.

Jimmy Butler and the Timberwolves had a fallout in 2019 that makes the reunion unlikely. If the Timberwolves engage in Heat trade talks, then some other team will likely be roped in the deal. But, Randle's injury could also have an impact on the trade discussions.
