The NBA Playoffs 2025 are heating up as both conference finals matchups are officially set. On Sunday, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder past the defending champions, Denver Nuggets, in a decisive Game 7 to secure their fifth trip to the Western Conference Finals since relocating to OKC in 2008.
Meanwhile, in the East, the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks are set to clash in a nostalgic rivalry that hasn't seen a conference finals matchup since 2000.
Thunder Storm Into Western Conference Finals
Oklahoma City’s Game 7 blowout win over Denver sealed their place in the West finals, where they’ll enjoy home-court advantage against the surging Minnesota Timberwolves. The Thunder’s dynamic offense and stifling defense proved too much for Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.
Minnesota, who defeated the Golden State Warriors in just five games, had extra rest after clinching their series last Wednesday.
Eastern Conference Set for Pacers vs. Knicks Throwback Showdown
The New York Knicks have punched their ticket to their first conference finals appearance since 2000. Their reward? A showdown with the Indiana Pacers, who are back for the second straight year after getting swept by the Celtics in 2024.
This year, however, Indiana got their revenge by defeating Boston in the semifinals — a series in which Celtics star Jayson Tatum ruptured his Achilles in Game 4.
