The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced a series of schedule adjustments following the postponement of several games due to wildfires in Los Angeles and severe weather conditions in Atlanta. The league confirmed the rescheduled dates for three of the affected games and revealed changes to six others, all to accommodate the delays.

Rescheduled games

One of the major changes includes the Hornets vs. Lakers game that was initially slated for last Thursday. This contest will now take place on February 19 at the Crypto.com Arena. The Hornets vs. Clippers game, originally scheduled for the previous Saturday, will now be played on March 16.

Another key adjustment sees the postponed Rockets vs. Hawks game, which was delayed due to severe weather in Atlanta, being rescheduled to January 28 at State Farm Arena.

However, the Spurs vs. Lakers game, which was also postponed last Saturday, currently has no confirmed rescheduled date. The NBA has stated that further details on this game will be announced at a later time.

Additional schedule tweaks

To accommodate these rescheduled games, the NBA has made the following adjustments to the regular season schedule:

The Bulls vs. Clippers game, initially set for January 21 in Los Angeles, will now take place on January 20.
The Wizards vs. Jazz game, originally scheduled for January 23 in Utah, has been moved to March 19.
The Jazz vs. Lakers game set for February 11 in Los Angeles has been moved up to February 10.
The Wizards vs. Clippers game, originally set for March 16 in Los Angeles, will now occur on January 23.
The Wizards vs. Trail Blazers game, scheduled for March 18 in Portland, has been moved to March 17.
The Clippers vs. Jazz game, set for March 19 in Utah, will now take place on February 13.

Interestingly, despite not being involved in any of the postponed matchups, both the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards will see three of their games shifted. These changes aim to minimize back-to-back games and reduce travel fatigue for the teams. The NBA likely made these adjustments to avoid disrupting the playoff races, as neither the Jazz nor the Wizards are currently in contention for playoff spots.
