LA Lakers are still seeking talents to strengthen their squad.

After a disappointing end to the season, all eyes are on how the LA Lakers will act in the offseason. It goes without saying that the franchise needs a Center, who can curb the defensive frailties as well as support Luka Doncic and LeBron James in the front. As a result, the Lakers' front office is expected to make the big changes and add new talent to the squad. As the Lakers will be searching for a perfect signing, the rumor mill is filled with who they can target. In relation to the same, a new entry is making rounds.

LA Lakers Can Pursue Kings' Star Center

As per assertions, Lakers' search can end on Sacramento Kings' star Domantas Sabonis. According to Caleb Hightower, the Lakers' struggles against physical centers exposed their lack of interior presence, particularly in the playoffs. Acquiring Domantas Sabonis would strengthen their frontcourt with his scoring and rebounding abilities.

Jonah Kubicek of Athlon Sports laid out a compelling case for why this trade makes sense: "The Los Angeles Lakers, after their first-round exit, will likely look for a player who can both maximize the end of LeBron James' prime and be Luka Doncic's long-term running mate, and Sabonis fits the bill."

Domantas Sabonis had a standout season despite the Kings' 40-42 record. His versatile skills would provide the Lakers with a much-needed boost in the paint, addressing their interior weakness.

How Can the Deal Take Place?

In this complex trade scenario, the Los Angeles Lakers would receive Domantas Sabonis and Desmond Bane from the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies, respectively, in exchange for Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, along with other assets. The Sacramento Kings would acquire Rui Hachimura, Dorian Finney-Smith, and several future picks from the Lakers and Memphis, while sending Sabonis to the Lakers. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies would get DeMar DeRozan and Austin Reaves from the Lakers, sending Desmond Bane to the Lakers and receiving draft compensation.
