The New Orleans Pelicans will take on Los Angeles Lakers in the Summer League game on Saturday, July 12th at the Thomas & Mark Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main talking point for the Pelicans would be whether their rookie Jeremiah Fears start against the Los Angeles Lakers or not.

Will Jeremiah Fears play against Los Angeles Lakers?

It is expected that the 18-year-old point guard will be suiting up for encounter against Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. The first game that the New Orleans Pelicans played was against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which they lost 98-91. Jeremiah Fears made his debut for the Pelicans in that game but his performance was poor.

He was able to register 14 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in the 27 minutes that he clocked, shooting 4-12 from the field. Although reaching the double figure mark in his debut game, he looked nervous at times due to which he committed seven turnovers and six fouls.

Sophomore Yves Missi also had a similar kind of a performance as he notched up 13 points. But, his 13 rebounds against Minnesota earn him a double-double against them. However, the best player for the Pelicans was their two-way star, Lester Quinones.

Having being signed to the Birmingham Squadron in the G League, Missi was able to record 20 points from the bench shooting 62.5% from the 3-point line. He also hit 7-12 from the field while collecting 2 rebounds and 2 assists to his name.

Despite Quinones' performance, the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft should feature against the Lakers. Not just this, he is even viewed as an important piece of the rebuild of the team. He will be hoping to have a much better outing this time around as two more games are remaining in the Summer League.
