The 2025 WNBA All-Star 3-point contest will be held on 18th July and the WNBA All-Star will take place on 19th July. All eyes would be Sabrina Ionescu, will she feature in the 2025 WNBA All-Star 3-point contest or not.

Will Sabrina Ionescu start in 2025 WNBA All-Star 3-point contest?

The 27-year-old guard won the 3-point contest back in 2023, setting a record for most points in a single round with 37. She was declined to defend her title last year, with Allisha Gray taking the title. But, it will be interesting to see whether Ionescu participate in this year's 3-point contest.

According to Madeline Kenney of the New York Post, Ionescu will be suiting up for the 3-point contest in Indianapolis. She will be joined by Washington Mystics rookie Sonia Citron as the confirmed participants in this year's 3-point contest.

This will mark Ionescu's second 3-point contest in her career as she is in her sixth season in the WNBA. She is considered as one of the best shooters in the league but she is shooting a career low 32.4% from beyond the arc this season.

Sabrina Ionescu has dropped hints of her participation in the 3-point contest on social media. She recently posted a photo from her 3-point shootout with Stephen Curry in the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend on her Instagram story last Friday, putting on eyeball emojis.

The Oregon product went head to head against Curry in the 3-point contest but ultimately fell short 29-26. She still holds the record for most points in an NBA or WNBA 3-point contest round, with 37, shooting 92.5% in the final round.

When she was asked by Madeline Kenney about her facing Caitlin Clark in the 3-point contest, Ionescu is staying humble and isn't thinking about a potential final match.

I gotta get through to the second round, Ionescu said. Who even knows if I'm in the second round?

Caitlin Clark was invited to last year's 3-point contest but she declined. It will be interesting to see if Clark makes her debut this year in her own backyard Indianapolis, Indiana.

For the fourth straight season, Sabrina Ionescu was named an All-Star. It will be her second time as a starter and her first appearance since 2022. She is averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
