The Nuggets and Jokic are awaiting the results of an MRI scan before they determine the severity of the injury. The results will also reveal how much time the Serbian superstar is set to miss.

The injury came after a misstep from a teammate, with about three seconds left until halftime. Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. drove into the paint and bumped Nuggets’ Spencer Jones before he stepped backwards and collided with teammate Jokic.

Jokic, the 30-year-old player, was alone under the basket, where he appeared to step forward to help Jones defend a drive by Jaquez Jr. The three-time NBA MVP immediately went down on the floor and held his knees with his hands, seemingly in pain.

Jokic then limped off at the end of the first half and was ruled out for the second. According to the Nuggets coach, David Adelman, he stated that Jokic immediately became aware of the injury. Meanwhile, the franchise is set to face the Raptors on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
