The Philadelphia Eagles will face the LA Lakers on Sunday as two teams lock horns for the first time this season at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. However, Philly faces big decisions regarding the presence of Paul George and Joel Embiid going into the game.
Latest update on Paul George and Joel Embiid
Both players are placed as "questionable" for Sunday's clash because of their respective knee injuries, and their availability will be decided by Nick Nurse ahead of tip-off.
Embiid sat out the 76ers' 116-101 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, as he was given rest on the second night of a back-to-back after their clash against Warriors. He played 25 minutes in that game, ending up with 12 points.
Meanwhile, Paul George started against the Bucks, smashing 20 points, five assists and five assists in 30 minutes. It was his seventh outing of the season, and he has played back-to-back games only so far.
With the 76ers doing rotation of the two players, It looks unlikely that Embiid and George will play together against the Lakers.
The pair got just one game to start together this season, a double-overtime clash against the Hawks in late November. In that contest, Embiid played for 30 minutes while George played 28, as Atlanta pulled out a 142-134 win.
With the 76ers riding on a three-game win streak and steadily building momentum, they are expected to continue limiting the duo's minutes. While they could still feature against the Lakers, it remains highly unlikely they will start together.
Latest update on Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford
Beyond Embiid and George, the 76ers will also remain without Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford. Oubre has been on the sidelines because of a knee sprain since mid-November, while Watford is out with an adductor injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
