A final decision has been made on Kyrie Irving, which will put the Dallas Mavericks fans in huge concern. The 33-year-old suffered an injury on March 3, 2025, and underwent ACL repair surgery on March 27. While fans were optimistic about his powerful return, an NBA expert has dropped a bombshell update on the point guard.
Kyrie Irving’s latest injury update is concerning for Mavericks fans amid struggling season
Kyrie Irving will not return for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The NBA star will continue recovering from the torn ACL, according to a report by the Mavericks. The Franchise stated in a statement that the player "has made steady progress in rehabilitation and will remain actively engaged with the team through the remainder of the season."
According to Irving, as quoted by the team, it was not an “easy” decision but the “right one.” The player is looking forward to returning next season on a stronger note.
Meanwhile, as per what player agent Shetellia Riley Irving told ESPN's Shams Charania, the reason behind ruling out Irving for the entire season was "about Kyrie being 1000% when he comes back and giving himself the best chance to chase a championship next season."
Meanwhile, the NBA star will continue his recovery under the supervision of the Mavericks' medical and performance staff for the entire season. The Mavericks are currently 12th in the Western Conference with a disappointing 19-35 record.
