The Lakers guard fiercely defended teammate Doncic after the superstar suffered a hamstring injury and headed to the locker room. The 27-year-old confronted a Thunder fan who mocked the former Dallas Mavericks player during Thursday night's 139-96 rout by the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center.
The incident unfolded in the third quarter as the Lakers trailed by 32 points. Doncic went down hard on a play and limped off the court in visible pain. As he lay on the floor, a courtside Thunder supporter taunted him, yelling:
"Now you know what it's like to play defense."
Reaves, nearby and checking on his teammate, immediately fired back:
“Shut the f**k up. Shut up, he’s f**king hurt.”
The exchange escalated with profanity from both sides, as the fan responded:
"F**k you"
Reaves repeatedly demanded respect, shouting, "Have some f**king respect" before security eventually intervened.
Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer this season, played 26 minutes before exiting and recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Lakers, currently third in the Western Conference at 50-27, now await MRI results on Doncic's left hamstring, with concerns mounting just two weeks before the playoffs.
