Boston Celtics' star forward Jayson Tatum, who recently turned 27, desires to play at his peak for as long as possible. Since the player is aware of what he wants to achieve, he also knows who to look forward to gaining the takeaway for longevity. Being the inspiration of an entire generation, NBA legend LeBron James is going strong even at the age of 40, and individuals like Jayson Tatum see the Lakers star as an ideal role model.

Jayson Tatum On LeBron James
After scoring 35 points in 31 minutes in a 123-105 thrashing of the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night, Tatum was questioned about the Celtics' upcoming game against the rival Lakers and immediately gave James his flowers.
“I mean, as much as we probably talk about LeBron, we probably don't talk about him enough,” he praised. “Being 40 in his 22nd season and playing at an All-NBA level is incredible. It's a testament to the work that he's put into his game, to his body, to stay in the best shape and be able to compete and perform at the highest level for over two decades now.”
Tatum earned his sixth All-Star title in February, while James was named to his 21st, giving the league the most All-Star selections ever. James continues to set records as he nears 1,600 games, averaging 25.1 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game this season despite breaching the mark of 40 years of age.
It's no secret that Tatum, like many other NBA players, wants to follow in James' footsteps. It won't be easy, but the Celtics' franchise cornerstone had a title under his belt at the age of 26, something James didn't achieve until he was 27. Tatum has three All-NBA First Team selections and is on track to score more over 26 points for the sixth consecutive season.
If Tatum remains hungry and healthy, he may be able to play for another decade and improve on an incredible resume that would almost certainly land him in the Hall of Fame.
