Rohit Sharma's autographed note for Indore traffic cop Ranjeet Singh has gone viral.

Ranjeet posted it on Facebook to share his gratitude.

India captain Rohit Sharma left a lasting impression on local traffic police officer Ranjeet Singh during his recent visit to Indore for the second T20I match against Afghanistan. Ranjeet, known for his moonwalking dance moves while managing traffic, had previously met Rohit but was unable to get his autograph due to his duties.

This time, the 36-year-old not only recalled the previous meeting but also conveyed his gratitude to Ranjeet. In a gesture that has touched the hearts of numerous people, the Indian captain personally wrote his autograph accompanied by a heartfelt message. Rohit entrusted the autograph to the team bus driver to ensure it reached Ranjeet. The traffic cop expressed his appreciation on Facebook, commending Rohit’s humility and emphasising that a player's greatness extends beyond sportsmanship to include compassionate thinking.

"When the Indian team came to Indore for the last time, I met India's captain Rohit Sharma ji. I asked him about his autograph but I could not take him due to duty, but the captain remembered this. This time while going he gave his autograph and his love towards me in words and gave it to driver sir and told him to give this crazy man Ranjeet. Hearty thanks captain sir for your love.. A player does not become great only by sports, similar thinking makes him great," the Police officer wrote the entire episode in his post.

Rohit's considerate gesture has gained widespread attention, highlighting the warmth and respect he extends to individuals from diverse backgrounds. This further cements his reputation not only as an outstanding athlete but also as a person of exceptional character.

Despite his return to the T20I format after the 2022 World Cup not unfolding as anticipated on the field, encountering setbacks with consecutive ducks in the initial two T20Is against Afghanistan, there remains a potential milestone for Rohit as a captain. Securing another victory could propel him to become the Indian captain with the highest number of T20I wins, surpassing MS Dhoni's record of 41.
