India will look to convert final appearances into silverware when they begin their Women’s T20 Asia Cup campaign against Thailand in Dubai on Sunday. They sit in Group A alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong. The team faces Thailand on 30 August, followed by Hong Kong on 3 September and a high-profile clash with Pakistan on 5 September. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

India’s Asia Cup record ahead of Women's T20 campaign vs Thailand
India are the most successful team in the history of the tournament. The team has won three of the five editions while finishing runners-up in 2018 and 2024. In their latest edition, they were beaten by Sri Lanka.
In the last three editions of the tournament, the Women in Blue have reached the final every time but lifted the trophy only once, unfortunately. They finished runners-up in 2018 after losing to Bangladesh and again in 2024 when Sri Lanka claimed their maiden title. Their sole success in that span came in 2022, when they defeated Sri Lanka in the final.
The 2026 edition, the tenth overall and the sixth in T20 format, was hosted in Dubai from 28 August to 13 September. Despite their strong historical record of seven titles overall, India arrived with questions after a group-stage exit at the recent T20 World Cup. However, they remain favourites to return to the tournament.
