Iceland Cricket, who are known for their humorous social media posts, took a brutal dig at Pakistan opener Saim Ayub after he was dismissed on a golden duck against India in their second Group Stage match of the Asia Cup 2025 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
Ayub has failed to perform in theAsia Cup 2025 so far, the 23-year-old batter is yet to get off the mark as he departed on a duck in Pakistan's two group stage matches. During Pakistan's tournament opener, Saim got out on a golden duck after getting plummed on Faisal Shah's delivery and in their latest clash against India, Hardik Pandya picked his wicket on the first legal delivery of the clash. Iceland Cricket took their 'X' to troll the skipper for maintaining his consistency to get out on a golden duck.
"At least Saim Ayub maintained some consistent form" posted Iceland Cricket
Coming back to Pakistan's last clash against India, Team India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in a one-sided clash to seal their berth in the Super Four of the Asia Cup. Pakistan, who opted to bat first at Dubai Stadium, were restricted to 127/7, and as the spin trio, Axar Patel (2/18 in 4 overs), Kuldeep Yadav (3/18 in 4 overs), and Varun Chakravarthy (1/24 in 4 overs), seemed unplayable against the Men in Green.
While chasing, India opener Abhishek Sharma ripped apart Pakistan premier speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi, smashing him all over the ground. The southpaw started the proceedings with a boundary and smashed a maximum on the second ball. He scored 31 off 13 balls that helped the defending champions to get a good start, and after that, skipper Suryakumar Yadav led from the front and played a match-winning 47-run knock. He finished the clash with a six. Pakistan will now face the UAE on September 17 at the same venue for their third group stage clash.
