Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that the Men in Blue will easily defeat Pakistan in their Super 4 clash in Asia Cup. This comes after Suryakumar Yadav & Co. defeated their arch-rivals comprehensively by 7 wickets in their group stage clash earlier in the tournmament. Harbhajan further stated that even though India are without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, they have a team which is capable enough to defeat Pakistan.
"I don't think that the current Pakistan team will be able to compete against India. They used to be a great team back in the days but the current team will need a lot of time to get to India's level. I think it will be another one-sided match as India aren't just strong on paper, but are also the reigning champions in T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy. Even without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, this Indian team is capable of taking the game away from Pakistan," Harbhajan told Sports Tak in an exclusive chat.
Suryakumar and Salman didn't shake hands again
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav once again didn't shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha during the toss for the match on Sunday. Both of them walked past each other and didn't even makie eye contact. They hadn't shaken hands when both the sides had met previously in the tournament and that had ignited a massive controversy.
Suryakumar won the toss and elected to field first. India decided to make two changes in their playing XI as they brought in Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy into the team in place of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
India and Pakistan's Asia Cup journey so far
India come into this match after decimating all their opponents in the group stage. The Men in Blue topped Group A with six points after winning all their three matches against UAE, Pakistan and Oman respectively. On the other hand, even though Pakistan defeated Oman and UAE, their performances particularly in the batting department weren't convincing at all. It remains to be seen if they will improve in the clash against India or not.
