India veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with four scalps during the Suryakumar Yadav-led side's Asia Cup 2025 opener clash against the UAE at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Kuldeep's four-wicket haul helped India bundle out the UAE on just 57 runs.
The spinner, who was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding performance against the UAE, thanked Adrian Le Roux for helping him with the training before the mega event.
"Kuldeep Yadav, Player of the Match: (On not playing a lot in recent months) It was tough for me. Was working on my bowling and my fitness as well (with Adrian le Roux, our Strength & Conditioning coach), and everything was going perfect (tonight). The length matters a lot, reading the batters. Specially in this format, the length is the main thing and reading the batters and what they are trying to do. Reacting to what the batter was trying to do (off the next ball)" said Kuldeep Yadav after India's nine wicket win vs UAE.
Who is Adrian Le Roux?
Adrian Le Roux is a South African strength and conditioning coach who recently joined the Indian men's cricket team (BCCI) as their new strength and conditioning coach before the five-Test match series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England. Kuldeep's four-wicket haul helped India bundle out the UAE on just 57 runs. While chasing 58 runs, India's openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill went all guns blazing as the defending champions India chased down the total in just 43 overs.
