Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore or R Sai Kishore as he is popularly known in the cricket circuit, has been around for quite some time now. Kishore is a utility player who can fit into any side through his three-dimensional play. Primarily a left-arm spinner, the 26-year-old's batting prowess has improved leaps and bounds of late and it has been his hard work, dedication and relentless pursuit to become a better version of himself that earned him his maiden India cap on October 3 (Tuesday).
It was a proud moment for Kishore and also for all the people who have watched him evolve over the years. When Indian players lined up for the national anthem ahead of the Asian Games match against Nepal, Kishore was in tears as he couldn't control his emotions. After all, his dream of representing India at the highest level came to fruition and the overwhelming emotions that came with it were there for everyone to see.
India's wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, who has followed the rise of Kishore and played cricket alongside the 26-year-old, was also overwhelmed upon seeing his teammate in tears during the national anthem. Karthik penned an emotional message for Kishore on X, formerly Twitter, and lavished heartfelt appreciation for Kishore.
God has his ways of giving back to people who work hard
"This unbelievable player @saik_99 who has DOMINATED domestic cricket with white ball is an absolute superstar and I couldn't be happier for him. Woke up in the morning and when I saw his name in the 11 , i was emotional seeing it. You want some people to do well , he was always on the top of my list," Karthik wrote on X.
"The way he's improved his batting tells you all about him , he was literally a STROKELESS wonder, and from there he's absolutely transformed into someone who can be relied upon in any format. I can keep speaking about him but for now, I'm just so happy to see him become an INDIAN cricketer and noone can ever take that away from him. Go well sai," he added.
