IND vs BAN 2nd T20I Probable Playing 11: On October 6, India kicked off the three-T20I series against Bangladesh with a comprehensive seven-wicket win in Gwalior. Express pacer Mayank Yadav and fast-bowling all-rounder Nitish Reddy were handed debut caps in the first T20I. Only one of them would have made their T20I debut had it not been for Shivam Dube's injury.

The second T20I will be played on October 9 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Suryakumar Yadav-led India will look to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. In the current squad, Harshit Rana is the only player who is yet to make his T20I debut. However, it is unlikely that head coach Gautam Gambhir will make any changes to the winning combination until and unless there are forced changes to be made due to a niggle.

Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is likely to continue opening the innings. The only change that can be accepted is in the batting order. Dube's replacement Tilak Varma may bat at no.4 and replaced Reddy in the side.

Varma has played 16 T20Is so far and scored 336 runs at an average of 33.60 including two half-centuries. His strike rate is 139.41. Reddy on his T20I debut bowled two overs and conceded 17 runs. In the run chase of 128, he came to bat at no.4 and scored 16 runs from 15 balls. He remained not out.

Even if Reddy is benched, India have plenty bowling options. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma are capable of contributed a few overs of spin, especially in the middle overs.

India’s Predicted Playing XI –

Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Suryakumar Yadav (c), Nitish Reddy/Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav

What happened when India played Bangladesh in Delhi in 2019?

The last time India took on Bangladesh in Delhi, they lost by seven wickets. In 2019, the Rohit Sharma-led side managed to post 148/6. Shikhar Dhawan was the top-scorer with 41 runs from 42 balls. Wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim's unbeaten 43-ball 60 helped Bangladesh chase down the total with seven wickets in hand and seven balls to spare. This is India's only loss in T20Is against Bangladesh. The two teams have locked horns 15 times in the format so far.
