On the second day of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh, India's wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was at the top of his game behind the stumps, both with his glovework and his banter. It was now India's opportunity to shine with the ball after Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had guided their team to a respectable score. From behind the stumps, Pant gave the pair encouragement and added some words of wisdom of his own. Pant's personality was on full display once more behind the stumps.

 

For the first time in almost two years, Rishabh Pant is participating in a Test match, and he made everyone aware of why he might have been greatly missed. Because his conversation being picked up by the stump mic, the southpaw was a livewire behind the stumps.

"Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja) bhai charo taraf aap hi dikh rahe ho... Aage peeche aap hi ho Jaddu bhai (Jaddu brother, I can see you everywhere. You are everywhere, Jaddu brother)," said Pant in an enthusiastic manner.

 

"Come on Ash bhai (Ravichandran Ashwin), keep bowling in good areas, come on Ash," Pant was heard saying to Ashwin.

 

In their second innings, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant joined 167 runs off 217 balls, which enabled India to declare at 287/4. After being out of the game early in the first innings for a duck, Gill exuded confidence right away. After scoring a duck in the first innings, he went on to become the first Indian hitter to reach a hundred against Bangladesh. In his last four innings, Gill has scored two hundreds for India in the second innings.
