Former India cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Sanjay Bangar lavished praise on Virat Kohli for his unbeaten match-winning century against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Kohli faced a lot of criticism after failing to perform in Australia during the five-match series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, but he again flexed his form in the high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.
During five Test match series against Australia and in the first Champions Trophy 2025 clash as well, Kohli got out similarly, edging the outside off-stump deliveries. Bangar reckons that Kohli did well against Pakistan because he watched the ball till the end.
"What Virat Kohli did well was to watch the ball till the end, till it made the contact with his bat, that is something we discussed - to watch the ball like a hawk & give more than 100% to each ball" said Sanjay Bangar as quoted by TOI.
After Kohli's poor performance in the Test series, there were talks that the batting great should announce his retirement from cricket. However, Bangar believes that Kohli can easily play for 3-4 years in International cricket
He is hungry for runs & going by the innings he played, he can easily play for another 3-4 years in International cricket" added Bangar.
Kohli is currently in Dubai preparing for India's third group stage clash against New Zealand which will take place on March 2 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
