Rohit Sharma-led India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 defeating New Zealand in the final at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. The mega event was played in a hybrid model where matches featuring India (including semifinal and final) played in Dubai and the rest of the tournament was hosted by Pakistan's Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. 

Defending champions and hosts Pakistan had a forgetful outing in the mega event as they failed to register a single win in the mega event. They lost their first two clashes of the tournament against New Zealand and India respectively. Their third group-stage clash against Bangladesh washed out due to rain. 

After India's Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC announced their team of the tournament, where they missed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Here is the ICC team of the tournament. 

1. Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand)

The New Zealand star batter scored 251 runs at an average of 62.75 including two centuries. He was awarded Player of the tournament for his iconic performance. 

2. Ibrahim Zadran (Afghanistan)

Afghanistan star scored 216 runs at an average of 72 including one century. Afghanistan's campaign got ended after their third group stage clash against Australia washed out. 

3. Virat Kohli (India)

Former India captain Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten century in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Pakistan. He scored 218 runs in the mega event as an average of 54.5. 


4. Shreyas Iyer (India)

Shreyas Iyer played like a wall in India's middle order. He scored 243 runs at an average of 48.6 with two fifties. 


5 KL Rahul (wk) (India)

KL Rahul scored 140 runs at an average of 140 and his highest score is 42 not-out. He also played an unbeaten match winning knock against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 final. 

6. Glenn Phillips (New Zealand)

New Zealander was one of the best fielders in the mega event as he picked up five catches. He scored 177 runs at an average of 59. He also picked up two wickets. 

7. Azmatullah Omarzai (Afghanistan)

Azmatullah Omarzai scored 126 runs at an average of 42. He picked up seven wickets including one five-wicket haul.

8. Mitchell Santner (c) (New Zealand)

Mitchell Santner named as the captain as he picked up nine wickets at an average of 26.6 with  4.80 economy. He guided the team to the final. 

9. Mohammed Shami (India)

Mohammed Shami is also included in the squad as he picked up nine wickets in the mega event including a fifer in India's opener clash against Bangladesh. 

10. Matt Henry (New Zealand)

He was ruled out of the final. Matt Henry picked up 10 wickets in the mega event at an average of 16.7 with 5.32 including one five-wicket haul. 

11. Varun Chakaravarthy (India)

India star spinner Varun Chakaravarthy was one of the consistent spinners in the mega event. He picked up nine wickets at an average of 15.1 with a 4.53 economy. 


12th player: Axar Patel (India)

Axar Patel was one of the best all-rounders in the mega event. He picked up five wickets at an average of 39.2 with 4.35 economy. He scored 109 runs, including 29 in the final.
