India clinched the third Test match with a record 434-run victory margin.

Former England captain Alastair Cook showered high praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal, drawing an amusing parallel between his entire Test career and the Indian opener's sensational innings in the Rajkot Test. Cook remarked that Jaiswal hit more sixes in one innings than he did throughout his entire Test career.

Jaiswal showcased a remarkable display of power-hitting and record-breaking performance on Day 4 of the third Test against England in Rajkot on February 18. The dynamic opener achieved his second consecutive double-century, joining the elite company of Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli as only the third Indian to accomplish this feat. The standout feature of his innings was the unprecedented number of sixes he struck. His magnificent 214-run innings was adorned with 12 sixes and 14 fours.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal hit more sixes in an innings than I did in my entire career," Cook said on TNT Sports.

Cook bid farewell to Test cricket in 2018, concluding a remarkable 12-year journey. Across 161 Test matches, he accumulated 12,472 runs at an average of 46.95, with 11 sixes to his name. With a sense of accuracy, the seasoned cricketer highlighted that the Indian opener surpassed his entire Test career's tally of sixes in just one innings.

JASBALL Trumps England's Bazball

India's dynamic opener matched Wasim Akram's record for the most sixes in an innings with 12. Out of the 48 sixes hit by India in the three Test matches so far, 22 have been courtesy of Jaiswal's powerful strikes. This achievement surpasses Rohit Sharma's previous record of 19, making Jaiswal the Indian player with the most sixes in a Test series. Notably, Jaiswal made a remarkable comeback after retiring hurt on Day 3 due to back spasms, choosing to return to the field on the following day after the dismissal of Shubman Gill. During his explosive innings, he particularly targeted England's veteran pacer, James Anderson, hitting him for three consecutive sixes.

The 22-year-old was soon joined by his Mumbai teammate and now fellow Indian player, Sarfaraz Khan. Together, they displayed impressive power-hitting skills during their partnership of 172 runs, achieved in just 26.2 overs. Their collaboration guided India to a commanding lead of 575 runs, effectively dismantling England's bowling attack. England's batting lineup faltered, managing only 122 runs, leading to India securing their largest-ever victory margin in terms of runs. This resounding win, by a margin of 434 runs, propelled India to a 2-1 lead in the 5-match Test series.
