India beat England by five wickets in the fourth Test at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi and took a lead of 3-1 in the five-Test match series. Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) forged an unbeaten 72-run partnership for the sixth wicket, leading India to win the series. This win has ensured that India have continued their unbeaten streak at home since their surprising loss to England in 2012, winning 17 consecutive home Test series.
On Day 4 of the match, India started the day at 40 runs without losing any wickets. Although there were some tense moments, India successfully chased down the target of 192 runs in the afternoon session. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a strong start with an 84-run partnership, but both were dismissed. India faced a bit of trouble after losing a few more wickets quickly, but Dhruv Jurel and Shubman Gill stabilised the innings with a partnership of 72 runs, guiding India to victory.
