No replacement will be announced for Leach, who was ruled out with left knee injury.

England's best spinner Jack Leach was on February 11 (Sunday) ruled out from the remaining three Test matches against India. The England Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement and made the announcement. The ECB in the release said that Leach has been ruled out with an injury to his left knee. Leach is set to return home from Abu Dhabi and will closely work with England and Somerset medical teams for his rehabilitation. The ECB also confirmed that no replacement will be called for the injured spinner.

"England and Somerset spinner Jack Leach has been ruled out of the rest of England Men’s Test tour of India with a left knee injury," England Cricket said in a release.

"Leach sustained the injury during England’s first Test victory in Hyderabad and missed the second Test in Vizag as a result.

"He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team have been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday.

"Leach will work closely with the England and Somerset medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation.

"England will not be calling up a replacement," the release added.

Talking about Leach, the left-arm spinner is the most experienced in red-ball cricket for England. His absence will hurt England's chances of registering a Test series win in India. The last time the Three Lions won a Test series in India was in 2021/13.

India vs England

The ongoing series against India and England is turning out to be a cracking contest between two teams with contrasting approaches to the game. England landed the first punch by winning the first Test in Hyderabad while India came back and won the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

The third Test between India and England will take place in Rajkot and the match is scheduled to begin on February 15.
