Hardik Pandya injury

During the ODI World Cup match against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on October 19 (Thursday), Team India and its supporters experienced a moment of anxiety when star all-rounder Hardik Pandya suffered an injury. The distressing episode transpired during the 9th over of Bangladesh's batting and also marked the onset of Hardik's bowling spell. Attempting to stop the ball with his foot, Hardik slipped and endured what appeared to be a severe injury to his left foot.

His fellow cricketers hurried to his side, with Virat Kohli lending his hand to help Hardik stand. The pain was evident on Hardik's face, and he seemed to avoid putting pressure on his injured foot. The team's physio was quick to attend to him on the field, applying heavy strapping to his shin and ankle after a significant delay.

Though Hardik tried to continue playing, conducting a trial run-up after the treatment, the pain was overwhelming. After delivering just three balls and conceding two boundaries, he decided to retreat to the pavilion for further medical attention.

In light of the situation, Captain Rohit Sharma turned to Kohli to complete the remaining half of Hardik's over. Kohli, the former Indian captain, stepped up and delivered the pending three balls.
