The 2023 ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan will be played on October 14, one day before the earlier date announced in the schedule. Sports Tak has learned that the high-octane clash between two sub-continental giants will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

As per the official schedule announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier, India and Pakistan were slated to lock horns on October 15. Security agencies then advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to change the dates of the India vs Pakistan fixture as it was clashing with the start of Navratri, a festival that is celebrated with great fervour across the state of Gujarat.

The BCCI is likely to make an official announcement on the change on July 31 (Monday) along with a few other tweaks in the schedule.

Since the time ICC unveiled the 2023 World Cup schedule, Indian and Pakistan cricket fans have marked their calendars for the most mouthwatering fixture of the tournament. The two arch-rivals are likely to renew their rivalry in front of more than one lakh fans in the stadium with over a billion people watching it on televisions across the world.

With the change in dates, fans will have to deal with a major nuisance, especially those who have already booked their flights and hotels according to the original schedule.

The ODI World Cup is scheduled to start on October 5 with the final of the quadrennial competition slated to be played in Narendra Modi Stadium. Apart from the final, the largest cricket stadium in the world is bound to host three more matches, including the one between India and Pakistan.

Before the World Cup, India and Pakistan are also scheduled to cross swords in an Asia Cup match in Sri Lanka.
