New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the all-important toss and elected to field against Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup fixture at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 13 (Friday). Opening batter Will Young made way for returning Williamson in the playing XI while Bangladesh also made one change to their playing XI that featured in the previous match. Veteran all-rounder Mahmudullah replaced Mahedi Hasan in the playing XI.

With their talismanic skipper back in action, New Zealand have been further bolstered and are now looking as one of the prime contenders to lift the glittering trophy.

Bangladesh, on the flip side, won their opening match comfortably against Afghanistan while they were blown away by the defending champions England in their next fixture.
