BCCI arranged a special charter flight 'AIC24WC', which stands for AirIndia Champions24WorldCup to rescue the Indian cricket team players from Barbados. Team India was unable to return home due to Hurricane Beryl hitting Barbados and was forced to stay put days after winning the prestigious T20 World Cup 2024 title. As all airports were closed India could not travel back, so BCCI had to make special arrangements. Now as per the reports from the flight tracking portal ‘Flightradar24’, this charter flight has become the most tracked flight online.
Hurricane Before the Storm of Celebrations
Team India’s World Cup winning celebrations saw a spoilsport with a Category 5 Hurricane named Beryl hitting Barbados just hours after the finals concluded on 29th June. Rohit Sharma and Co with were struck on the island as airlines were suspended. BCCI was quick enough to act wisely in this situation and they organized a special charter flight to ensure the safe passage of the Indian Team back home. The flight touched down in India on July 4th, 6:05 AM and the moment the flight landed in India, there was an announcement saying "Welcome Home World Champions".

Team India leave for Mumbai after meeting PM Modi
The Men in Blue side arrived in New Delhi and after resting for a while at their hotel in ITC Maurya. The team went to the PMO house to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now after their meeting with PM, they have once again departed to take the flight that will be taking them straight to Mumbai for the much-awaited victory parade. Indian team will be doing a kilometer-long open bus victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium with the T20 World Cup trophy.
