Wasim Akram congratulated USA for making it to T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 stage.

Akram wants new players to be included in Pakistan's T20I side.

As the match between Ireland and USA was washed out due to rain on June 14, Babar Azam-led Pakistan got knocked out of T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 race. USA created history as they qualified for the Super 8 stage in their maiden T20 World Cup.

"Yeah, absolutely. And congratulations to Team USA. They've done amazingly well when you talk about globalisation of the game. This is it USA qualifying for Super Eights. They deserve to be there. They had beaten Pakistan in the round match. So they are there. And for Pakistan was the plan EK 601 to Dubai and then to the respective cities. And then we see what happens from there onwards," Akram said in a video posted by the ICC on social media.

What Akram said after loss to India

Earlier, when Pakistan lost to India, Akram went on a rant and revealed that the environment in the dressing room is not fine.

"Somebody has to speak the truth about this Pakistan cricket (team). It's kind of getting out of hands. Kisi ka mood off hai, woh uss se baat nahi kar raha, yeh uss se baat nahi kar raha (somebody's mood is off, this guy is not talking to that guy). Come on guys! What is this going on! Poore mulq ke jazbaat ka tumne satyanaash maar ke rakh diya hai. Hadd hoti hai kisi cheez ki (you have played with the emotions of the entire nation, there is a limit to everything)," Akram said in an angry rant.

Akram also called for massive changes in the team. He wants new talent to be given chances at the international level.

"Enough is enough! Done! Bring in new kids, make a new Pakistan team. The entire Pakistan community back home and here (in the US) is depressed. They were celebrating that we are winning (against India), after a long time, that too against such a big team. But they (Pakistan team) said 'no, we don't want to win come what may'," the all-rounder said.

"Now they should go, look at themselves in the mirror and say on their own that they won't play now… My advice to them (Pakistan Cricket Board) will be play a new team, new kids. We are anyway losing...mold those kids. There will be a team in place in one year's time."
