Hardik Pandya's few captaincy decisions in the IPL 2024 have been under the scanner.

Rishabh Pant is likely to be India's first choice wicketkeeper-batter in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The swashbuckling Rishabh Pant has made an emphatic comeback to the game after surviving a life-threatening car accident. Pant has left no room for doubt over his fitness and all but cemented his place in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Meanwhile, the fast-bowling all-rounder seems to having a tough time and may lose vice-captaincy.

As per a report by Cricbuzz, Pant may be selected as Rohit Sharma’s deputy for the mega tournament in the USA and West Indies. Pandya-led MI are placed ninth on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 points table with six places from nine games. Meanwhile, DC have shrugged off poor start with five wins from 10 games. They are placed sixth on the points and very much in contention for a playoffs spot.

While Pant has been able to justify even if one of his captaincy decision has not went DC’s way, Pandya has been a pale shadow of what he was as Gujarat Titans (GT) captain. From not opening the bowling with Jasprit Bumrah to some questionable fielding and bowling changes to criticism of teammate for not taking the left-handed bowler on, Pandya has been making the headlines for wrong reasons.
