The Maharashtra government celebrated the contributions of Mumbai players to India's T20 World Cup triumph. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a special prize money of ₹11 crores to be shared amongst the four Mumbai players - Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
In addition to the financial reward, Rohit Sharma, the victorious captain, received the prestigious Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue as a token of appreciation for his leadership. This celebration coincided with Rohit Sharma's emotional retirement announcement from T20 Internationals. He leaves the format as the all-time leading run-scorer with a staggering 4231 runs. His impressive career includes five centuries, the most by any batsman in T20I history, along with 32 fifties and a phenomenal career strike rate of 140.
