Rohit Sharma has finally addressed Virat Kohli's patchy form in the T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli once again failed to click with the bat in T20 World Cup semifinal against England.

However, despite Kohli's batting blip India bulldozed England to make it to T20 World Cup final.

Rohit Sharma has finally spoken on Virat Kohli's lacklustre form in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 following India's emphatic 68-run victory over England in the semifinal on June 28. Virat Kohli failed to click with the bat yet again, and perished to Reece Topley after scoring just 9 off nine balls in the crucial encounter against England. This is the same Kohli, who won the Orange Cap in the IPL 2024 playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He was also the Player of the tournament in the ODI World Cup 2023. With runs coming galore from his bat, fans expected Virat Kohli to dominate the T20 World Cup 2024 too. However, he has only managed to score 75 runs in 7 innings so far.

However, Virat Kohli has got the backing from his captain Rohit Sharma, who believes the superstar batter is saving best for the last. In the post-match presentation Rohit said that Kohli understands his class.

“(Kohli) We understand his class. Form is never a problem when you've played for 15 years. Probably saving for the final,” Rohit said at the post-match presentation following India's resounding win over England in the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal.

Rohit, however, also expressed his satisfaction upon winning the T20 World Cup semifinal.

“Very satisfying to win. Worked very hard as a unit and it was a great effort from all. We adapted really well, conditions were challenging. That's been the success story for us so far. If bowlers and batters adapt, things fall in place. At one stage, 140-150 looked par. But we got runs in the middle, SKY and I were going and thought we can get 20-25 more. I didn't want to give that away, wanted to let the batters play on instinct. 175 was a very good score, bowlers were fantastic. Axar, Kuldeep are gun spinners. Tough to play shots against them in these conditions. They were calm under pressure. We had a chat after the first innings, message was to keep stumps in play. That's what they did,” Rohit added.

India rode on Rohit Sharma's brilliant half century to post a competitive total of 171/7. In reply, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav combined together to wreak havoc on England and bundled them out for mere 103 runs. Rohit's brigade will now take on South Africa in the T20 World Cup final on June 29.
