Legendary Indian opener Sachin Tendulkar believes that the fans should continue backing the team after their exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup after their dismal loss against England on Thursday, November 10. The Men in Blue slumped to a 10-wicket defeat at the hands of the Jos Buttler-led side at the Adelaide Oval in the semifinals, crashing out of the tournament.

Alex Hales bagged the Player of the Match award after he stayed unbeaten on 86, also stitching an unbeaten 170-run stand for the opening wicket along with skipper Buttler.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar wrote, “A coin has two sides, so does life. If we celebrate our team’s success like our own, then we should be able to take our team's losses too… In life, they both go hand in hand.”

After the match, Rohit said that despite batting well in the dying stages of their innings, India failed because of their underwhelming bowling performance.

The Three Lions grabbed the match by the scruff of the neck and took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners, as were iterated by skipper Rohit Sharma. "It's pretty disappointing how we turned up today. I thought we still batted pretty well at the back end to get to that score, but we were not good enough with the ball. It was definitely not a wicket where a team can come and chase it down in 16 overs. With the ball we didn't turn up today,” Rohit said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

“When it comes to knockout stages, it's all about handling the pressure. Depends on the individual as well. You can't teach anyone to handle pressure. When these guys play the playoffs in the IPL and all that, those are high-pressure games, and they're able to handle it. The way we started with the ball was not ideal,” he added.

England are now set to face Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the final on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
