Former India captain and maverick batter, Virat Kohli is expected to participate in India's second and final warm-up match against the Netherlands on October 3 (Tuesday). According to a report in Cricbuzz, Kohli didn't rejoin the team till late evening on October 2 (Monday) but the management insisted that the superstar star would link up with the team ahead of the match against the Dutch at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
"He will be arriving soon and should be available for selection in tomorrow's game," Cricbuzz quoted a team official as saying.
Earlier, Kohli had travelled from Guwahati to Mumbai due to a 'personal emergency' while the rest of the Indian cricket team had arrived in Thiruvananthapuram.
Since India's first warm-up match against England was washed out in Guwahati without a ball being bowled, the players and management would hope that the team gets a hit against the Men in Orange on Tuesday as it is the last warm-up game for Rohit Sharma & Co.
Weather Report
Adverse weather conditions have impacted three warm-up matches, with two of them occurring in Thiruvananthapuram, featuring South Africa and Afghanistan on September 29. The Australia-Netherlands match on September 30 was shortened to a 23-over game but couldn't reach a conclusion.
The weather forecast in Thiruvananthapuram doesn't paint a good picture and rain is likely to cause interruption. The much-anticipated game faces a significant weather challenge, with rain forecasted for the entire day on Tuesday. If showers dominate the morning, there's a likelihood the match could be called off early, allowing players some much-needed rest.
