Story Highlights:

Harmanpreet Kaur and Pratika Rawal weren't included in ICC's Team of the Tournament

A total of 3 Indians found places in the Team of the Tournament

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur found no place in ICC's Team of the Tournament for the Women's World Cup after leading her side to the coveted title. The 36-year-old finished the tournament with a total of 260 runs from 8 innings, including two half-centuries. Though she didn't have the best of tournaments with the bat, it was her leadership skills that left many impressed.

Alongside her, Pratika Rawal also wasn't able to find a spot in the team despite having a memorable campaign. Though she did miss both the knockout games after sustaining an ankle injury in India's final league stage game against Bangladesh, she still scored 323 runs from just seven innings that included a fabulous knock of 122 against New Zealand in a crucial league stage match that the Women in Blue desperately needed to win. She was the fourth-highest run-scorer of the competition.

3 Indians make it to the team

Instead of the two of them, Smriti Mandhana found a place in the team and was chosen as the side's opener alongside South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt. Mandhana was India's top run-getter during the tournament and finished with 434 runs. She scored two half-centuries and a hundred in the nine innings that she played and was undoubtedly the Women in Blue's top performer with the bat.

Jemimah Rodrigues also found a place in the team after her heroic knock of 127* against Australia carried India over the finish line in the semi-finals. The 25-year-old wasn't really having a tournament top remember during the league stage and was even dropped for the clash against England. However, she came back in style and played a fine knock of 76* against New Zealand to help India reach the semi-finals before playing a key role in the victory over the Baggy Greens.

Finally, Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma was the third Indian to be included in the squad. She was the top performer in the final against South Africa, playing a vital knock of 58 and recording figures of 5/39. The 28-year-old finished the competition with 215 runs and 22 wickets, contributing massively in both the batting and bowling departments.

Other players in the team

On the other hand, both South Africa and Australia also had three players each while England and Pakistan had one player each present in the team of the tournament. England's Nat Sciver-Brunt was chosen as the 12th member in the team.
