India batting stalwart Rohit Sharma is currently preparing for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The 38-year-old was recently spotted doing batting practice at Mumbai's iconic Shivaji Park. Many fans showed up to watch him train, and during the session, a short but touching moment caught everyone’s attention.

During the practice, a young fan managed to sneak past the ropes to meet his idol. However, a security guard intervened, only for Rohit to immediately step in. In a now-viral video, the 38-year-old can be seen scolding the personnel for stopping the kid and insisting that he be allowed through. Here is the clip.
Rohit looked in good touch during his session, and the white ball great treated fans to some vintage cover drives and powerful sweeps, as chants of “Hitman” echoed across Shivaji Park.
India's Assistant coach was also there alongside young Mumbai talent Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Rohit's wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was also seen watching from the sidelines as he trained for nearly two hours before heading home.

Rohit, who already retired from Tests and T20Is, will be seen featuring as an opener in the upcoming ODI series against Australia as the BCCI announced Shubman Gill as his successor to lead India in the 50-over format.
