Travis Head is confident about the quality in Australia's batting order

Five-match T20I series between India and Australia to commence from October 29

Explosive Australia batter Travis Head believes that the team has the batting depth needed to dominate in the upcoming T20I series against India. Known for their aggressive batting approach, the Baggy Greens try to make the most out of the powerplay through the opening pair of Head and skipper Mitchell Marsh.

The two have provided the team with some fantastic starts and will be hoping to do the same in the assignment against India. Head outlined the side's aim of scoring as many runs as they can and put a lot of pressure on the opposition.

"When you’ve got the power that we’ve got behind us, we’ve got to get a move on. You don’t want to be chewing up balls up at the start when you’ve got (Tim) David, (Marcus) Stoinis, (Josh) Inglis, (Cameron) Green and (Glenn) Maxwell behind you. It’s huge power,' Head told cricket.com.au.

"We can score anything if we can get going. So, for Mitch (Marsh) and I (the plan is to) try and go out there and take advantage of it (Powerplay fielding restrictions). It’s been a strength of ours for a couple of years, that if you look at both one-day cricket and T20 cricket we’ve put a big emphasis on the Powerplay. We try not to be reckless, but at some stage it will look like that … but yeah, the plan is to try and get as many as possible," he added.

Australia's batting line-up for the series

Australia have picked a power-packed batting line-up for the upcoming series, comprising of the likes of Head, Marsh, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Owen and Matthew Short. With the ODI series already in the bag, the hosts will now be looking to replicate that form in the shortest format. Notably, the Baggy Greens had emerged victorious by 2-0 in their previous T20I assignment that was a three-match series against New Zealand.
