Border-Gavaskar Bound Team India is currently in Australia for the upcoming five-test match assignment which is scheduled to start from November 22. Indian players started practising at WACA to get comfortable with the Australian conditions before the marquee event. Indian batter likes of Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Yashavi Jaiswal, KL Rahul were seen doing batting practice and KL Rahul got injured on Day 1 of the match simulation.
As per the reporters in Australia, Indian batters were seen struggling in Australian conditions. Most of the batters were caught edging behind the wicket during Day 2 as well.
Shubman Gill to miss the first Test
India's opening batter Shubman, who emerged as the hero behind India's iconic 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy win was also injured while fielding in the slip. The 25-year-old batter fractured his thumb while fielding in the slips during a match simulation. There are chances that he will miss the first Test match.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 schedule
The much-anticipated Test series between Australia and India will kick off in Perth from November 22 to 26. The second Test, a Day/Night encounter, is set to be played at the Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10. Following that, the action moves to Brisbane, where the third Test will be held at The Gabba from December 14 to 18.
The series continues at the Melbourne Cricket Ground with the iconic Boxing Day Test, scheduled from December 26 to 30. The final match will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground, running from January 3 to 7, concluding an exciting series between the two cricketing giants.
